Purpose Of The Society
Stratford Regeneration CBS Limited was established to support long-term, community-led regeneration in Stratford-upon-Avon. The Society exists to enable community ownership and stewardship of assets where this can deliver lasting social, economic, and environmental benefit for the town.
The Society focuses on an asset-led approach to regeneration, prioritising patient capital, responsible management, and long-term outcomes over short-term gain. Any surplus generated is reinvested in further activities aligned with the Society’s objectives.
Legal Status
Stratford Regeneration CBS Limited is a Community Benefit Society registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and operating in England and Wales.
The Society is constituted for the benefit of the wider community and is governed by its registered rules.
Governance And Decision Making
The Society is owned by its members and operates on a one-member, one-vote basis, regardless of the level of investment made.
Strategic oversight and decision-making are the responsibility of the Board of Directors, who act in accordance with the Society’s rules and their statutory duties. The Board is accountable to the membership and is responsible for ensuring that the Society operates transparently and in furtherance of its stated purpose.
